Paris Jackson has pulled back the curtain on her closely guarded early years, discussing life at Neverland Ranch and the strict household rules enforced by her father, Michael Jackson, during a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast hosted by Alex Cooper.

Inside the Gates of Neverland

According to The Tab, Paris Jackson detailed her upbringing on the famous California property during the first seven years of her life. The sprawling estate featured a private amusement park, zoo, and train station.

Yet, those fantastical amenities were strictly off-limits. She explained that she and her siblings were taught those attractions did not belong to them.

“It was made very, very clear that all of the attractions there were not for us… that did not belong to us. That was for underprivileged children and children that were terminally ill that couldn’t go to like Disneyland,” Paris Jackson said on the podcast, as reported by The Tab.

Chores, Rewards, and Strict Routines

Good behavior was the ultimate currency.

Completed chores and finished homework on weekdays earned privileges when the weekend arrived. Paris Jackson outlined this core rule that dictated her youth.

“The cool, like very congruent line throughout my childhood that kind of started there and then just continued on wherever we went was, if you’re good, and you do your chores, and you do your homework, and you do the things that you’re supposed to do. Then on the weekends you can go see some animals, and you can go ride some rides, and you can go to the movies,” she stated, according to The Tab.

Daily life also included structured schooling inside a dedicated room on the property. Meanwhile, television and movie viewing followed a rigid structure, restricted to weekend rewards or educational film study with the sound turned off.

Shifting Rewards on the Road

The rules followed the family wherever they went.

Depending on their location—whether traveling to Las Vegas or Virginia—those weekend rewards shifted to local spots like Circus Circus or Chuck E. Cheese.

Masks, Disguises, and Cloistered Outings

When venturing out in public, Paris Jackson recalled that she and her siblings were always required to wear masks. At the time, she felt the precaution made complete sense.

“I mean it just, it made sense because it was like, [We were told], ‘If you do this now [wear the mask], you can go to Chuck E. Cheese and be normal because no one will know who you are. Like that made sense to me,” she said, according to The Tab.

Unaware of Global Stardom

Despite wearing disguises, she admitted she did not fully understand the true extent of her father’s global celebrity during her early years.

She described looking out a hotel window on occasions when aliases failed and seeing crowds of people holding signs, acknowledging that she did not realize the scale of the attention until later.

Reflecting on her relationship with her father, Paris Jackson shared fond memories. She described him as a funny person and stated, “That was my best friend,” while also noting that he called her his “little princess.”
