Parkitect Offers Free Weekend and Discounted Expansion on Steam

Steam users have until March 9 to try the theme park management simulator Parkitect for free. The game, developed by Texel Raptor, allows players to build and manage their own theme parks, with the unique ability to collaborate with up to eight players in cooperative multiplayer.

Free-to-Play Period and Expansion

The free weekend promotion on Steam allows players to download and play Parkitect at no cost until March 9, 2026. In addition to the base game being available for free, the “Booms & Blooms” expansion can be claimed permanently during this period. Players who purchase the base game after the free period will still retain access to the expansion if claimed.

About Parkitect

Parkitect is a modern grab on classic theme park tycoon games, drawing inspiration from titles like RollerCoaster Tycoon. Texel Raptor, the game’s developer, describes it as “bringing back the best of classic theme park games with many new features and content on top.” The game features extensive customization options, allowing players to design their own roller coasters, deform terrain, and choose from a wide selection of rides and decorations.

Multiplayer and Community Features

A key feature of Parkitect is its 8-player cooperative multiplayer mode, enabling friends to design and manage theme parks together. The game likewise boasts strong community support, with access to custom scenery, scenarios, and mods through Steam Workshops. The official Parkitect website highlights the active creative community surrounding the game.

Discounted Pricing and Reviews

Following the free weekend, Parkitect will be available at a 66% discount until March 13, bringing the price down to $10.19. The game currently holds a “Extremely Positive” rating on Steam, with approximately 94% of user reviews being positive. Game Rant reports that players praise the game’s similarities to classic theme park simulators, its replay value, and its multiplayer functionality.

Game History

Parkitect spent two years in Early Access before its full launch in 2018 on PC. It was later released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in 2024.
