Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade officially added American forward Robert Franks to its roster to increase its frontcourt depth following a derby victory over Crvena Zvezda, basketnews.com reported.
The club confirmed the signing on Friday, October 23, during the 2026-27 season, according to talkbasket.net. Franks arrives in Belgrade following a brief stint with the Nanjing Monkey Kings in the Chinese Basketball Association.
Global Career Path Leading to the EuroLeague
Standing 2.03 meters tall according to basketnews.com (or 201 centimeters as noted by talkbasket.net), Franks was born in Seattle in 1996. He played four seasons of college basketball at Washington State University before going undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft.
His professional journey started in the NBA G League with the Greensboro Swarm and Stockton Kings. He later joined the Lakeland Magic, helping the franchise win the 2021 NBA G League championship. That run led to two consecutive 10-day contracts with the Orlando Magic, where he appeared in seven NBA games during the 2020-21 season, averaging 6.1 points and 2.0 rebounds in 14.4 minutes per contest.
Following his time in the NBA, Franks built an extensive international career across Australia, Israel, Japan, and China:

* Israel (2022–2023): Experienced his first taste of European basketball with Hapoel Gilboa Galil.
* Japan (2023–2026): Competed for the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins and spent the previous two seasons with the Ibaraki Robots in Japan’s top division. During the 2025-26 campaign, he averaged 17.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists across 53 games, shooting 49.2% from the field and 40.3% from three-point range.
* China (2026): Joined the Nanjing Monkey Kings in September, recording four points and four rebounds in 17 minutes during his debut before moving to Serbia.
