Former Bloc Québécois MP Charged with Sexual Offences
Quebec City police have charged former Bloc Québécois Member of Parliament Pascal-Pierre Paillé with multiple counts of sexual assault. The allegations involve two minors, with incidents dating back to 2006 and as recently as August 2024.
Details of the Charges
Pascal-Pierre Paillé, 47, appeared in a Quebec City courtroom on Tuesday and was released under conditions prohibiting him from entering parks, playgrounds, or daycare centers. He is also forbidden from holding any position of authority over children under the age of 18.
According to police, the charges stem from two separate sets of alleged incidents:
- 2006: Allegations of sexual exploitation and sexual assault involving a teenager, occurring between January 1 and June 25 in Quebec City. Paillé was employed by the Centre de services scolaire des Découvreurs at the time.
- August 2024: Allegations of sexual contact and sexual assault involving a person under the age of 16, occurring in Quebec City.
Background
Pascal-Pierre Paillé represented the electoral district of Louis-Hébert for the Bloc Québécois from 2008 to 2011. He is the nephew of Daniel Paillé, former leader of the Bloc Québécois and a former Parti Québécois Member of the National Assembly of Quebec.
Prior to and following his time in federal politics, Paillé worked as a teacher. He was suspended from his teaching duties at the Centre de services scolaire de la Capitale in February 2026, following the allegations.
