Patrick Fiori’s collaborative musical project “Corsu Mezu Mezu” took over the Vélodrome stadium in Marseille for a large-scale concert event, which was captured for television and scheduled to broadcast on France 3. Conceived originally by Fiori in 2015, the musical initiative brings together traditional Corsican singers and mainstream French variety artists for shared duets, culminating in a third album released in the autumn of 2025 and this subsequent live performance.
The Marseille Vélodrome Concert Experience
According to reports of the event, the concert features performances from a mix of island-based acts and well-known French pop stars. Among the featured artists are Jenifer, Florent Pagny, Matt Pokora, Vianney, Claudio Capéo, Soprano, Santa, and Jean-Louis Aubert. Traditional Corsican contributions come from ensembles including the men’s choir Voce Ventu and the women’s group Suarina, alongside individual island vocalists such as Clément Albertini.
The broadcast incorporates backstage interviews and scenery footage of Corsica between musical segments, adopting a format comparable to the annual Enfoirés concerts. Notable moments highlighted from the staging include a duet between rapper Soprano and Corsican singer Clément Albertini on the track “Terra umana,” as well as the addition of a 5,000-person choir during the second half of the show.
Origins and Evolution of Corsu Mezu Mezu
The “Corsu Mezu Mezu” concept was launched by Patrick Fiori—known widely for his role as Phoebus in the musical Notre-Dame de Paris—to bridge mainland French variety music with Corsican linguistic and musical traditions. Over a decade, the project expanded across multiple recorded volumes, blending contemporary pop arrangements with polyphonic choral singing and regional instrumentation. Bringing the project to a venue the size of the Marseille Vélodrome marked a transition from studio-based recording collaborations to stadium-scale live production, broadcast in prime time by France Télévisions.
