Patrik Kincl and Dominik Humburger will face each other in Octagon 95 on October 17 in Karlovy Vary. The event stands out as one of the largest fights on the domestic scene, serving as the main event of the OKTAGON card in a city where the organization previously delivered a great show last year.
Technical Skill Versus Heart
Karlos Vémola, who has fought Kincl twice and regularly trains with Humburger, offered a detailed assessment of the main event for Octagon. While Vémola views Kincl as the more complete fighter across all aspects—including striking, grappling, and fight IQ—he maintains that the former champion lacks Hambáč’s heart
(Humburger’s heart
), which he notes cannot be learned through training or technique. Vémola described Kincl as a clever and experienced fighter who does only what is necessary to win and will avoid getting drawn into a wild exchange. Nevertheless, Vémola believes Humburger can succeed if he applies continuous pressure and unleashes his heavy punches, stating, I think if they really push him and start their bombs, he could take it with his heart.
Vémola himself holds a record of one win on points in XFN against Kincl and one loss within Oktagon, and he noted that he will be keeping his fingers crossed for Humburger.
Engizek favors Humburger with a 60-40 prediction, labeling the bout a potential fight of the year, while acknowledging Kincl as a very hard opponent. Engizek also characterized Humburger as one of the strongest fighters in OKTAGON with a great future ahead of him. Muradov also stated that he is glad to help Humburger with his preparation, while expressing his expectation that the experienced Kincl will likewise not underestimate the bout.
Contrasting Approaches to Preparation
Beyond fighting styles, the matchup highlights a stark contrast in preparation methods. While Kincl studies his opponents extensively to build specific defenses—leaving him perplexed by his opponent’s methods—Humburger leaves tactical planning primarily to his coaching staff and focuses instead on his own performance. This contrast extends to Humburger’s background as a professional soldier from Liberec; whereas a military background might suggest a meticulous study of an opponent, Humburger chooses not to overwhelm himself with analyzing every movement.

Kincl Faces Humburger Alongside Other Event Bouts
The event card also features bouts such as Škvor versus Narkun, Dvořák versus Aby, Polívka versus Feucht, Juráček versus Wittner, Novák versus Baal, Červinský versus Hromek, and Štěpán versus Zarabi. Whether Kincl’s tactical discipline and experience will prevail, or if Humburger’s pressure and heart will upset the former champion, remains unknown until they meet in the cage.
