Nationwide Drug Operations Net P415 Million in Seizures

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency seized P415.63 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 126 suspects across 81 nationwide operations between October 8 and 14, newsinfo.inquirer.net reported. The sweeping anti-drug campaign involved buy-busts, interdiction efforts, marijuana eradication, and the execution of search warrants.

Those taken into custody included 74 alleged drug pushers, 24 drug den visitors or clients, 10 maintainers or owners, nine employees, seven possessors, and two importers. All suspects face formal charges under Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Coordinated Regional Interceptions Target Transport Hubs

Authorities seized an additional 5.07 kilograms of suspected illegal drugs valued at PHP27.7 million and arrested seven individuals during separate operations in Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Western Visayas, and Northern Mindanao on October 13 and early October 14, balita.com reported. The Philippine National Police detailed that the single largest interception occurred at a cargo facility inside the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga, where joint teams recovered two inbound parcels holding approximately 3.74 kilograms of suspected ketamine worth PHP18.73 million.

The Clark operation brought together the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the PNP Drug Enforcement Group, the Bureau of Customs, the National Bureau of Investigation, and the Aviation Security Group. Additional regional operations yielded approximately 1.03 kilograms of shabu worth PHP6.3 million in Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro City, 255.79 grams of shabu valued at PHP1.74 million in Cainta, Rizal, and 140 grams of shabu worth PHP952,000 in Capiz, according to balita.com and Daily Tribune reports.

Evidence Securement and Official Security Assessments

All confiscated substances, including 57,280.33 grams of shabu, hundreds of ecstasy tablets, thousands of marijuana plants and seedlings, and various quantities of cocaine, ketamine, and pharmaceutical drugs, were placed in government custody for forensic examination. Law enforcement officials intend to present the recovered materials as evidence in court proceedings.

Philippine National Police Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. emphasized the operational philosophy behind the multi-agency push. “We take these results seriously because every shipment or supply of illegal drugs that we intercept is something that will no longer reach our communities,” Nartatez said in a statement reported by balita.com and Daily Tribune. He added that authorities must continue connecting intelligence information and strengthening inter-agency coordination rather than relying on isolated operations.
