Peak Design Launches Mobile Straps for Hands-Free Smartphone Carrying
Peak Design has introduced a modern line of mobile straps designed to offer convenient, hands-free carrying solutions for smartphones and small gadgets. The launch addresses a growing trend of smartphone carry straps, already popular in Europe and Asia, and follows Apple’s release of its own iPhone crossbody strap last year.
Three Strap Options
The new lineup features three distinct options to cater to different carrying preferences:
- Mobile Cuff ($29.95): A wrist strap designed for quick and easy access.
- Crossbody Strap ($49.95): A two-point strap allowing users to wear their phone across the body.
- Crossbody Multi-Strap ($59.95): This versatile strap utilizes anchor attachments to carry multiple items simultaneously.
Design and Compatibility
Peak Design’s straps incorporate a custom-developed corded rope engineered for strength, comfort, and stretch. The straps are compatible with both Peak Design and Apple iPhone 17 cases, and can be used with third-party cases when paired with an included adapter. The anchor attachments on the Crossbody Multi-Strap are each rated to withstand 50 pounds (23 kilograms) of force, enabling the carriage of items like compact point-and-shoot cameras – though not heavier DSLR or mirrorless cameras.
Availability
The Ocean and Black Crossbody/Cuff straps are currently available on Amazon UK, with wider availability expected soon. As of February 17, 2026, the Cuff is listed as “coming soon” on the Peak Design website.
Considerations
While the Crossbody Multi-Strap offers the ability to carry multiple items, its design, resembling climbing gear, may not be the most practical solution for all users. For those carrying small items like AirPods cases, a traditional bag or sling might be a more secure option.
