Tommy Shelby Returns: ‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’ Trailer and Release Date Revealed

Cillian Murphy is set to reprise his iconic role as Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, a cinematic continuation of the acclaimed BBC series. The film, directed by Tom Harper and written by Steven Knight, is slated for release in select cinemas on March 6, 2026, followed by a Netflix premiere on March 20, 2026.

A Destructive Reckoning for Tommy Shelby

Set in 1940 amidst the backdrop of World War II, the film finds Tommy Shelby pulled back from self-imposed exile to confront a formidable challenge. According to Netflix, the film centers on Tommy facing his “most destructive reckoning yet,” forcing him to grapple with his demons and decide whether to embrace or dismantle his legacy.

Returning and New Faces

Alongside Cillian Murphy, the film boasts an impressive ensemble cast. Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, Ian Peck and Stephen Graham will reprise their roles from the television series. Joining them are Rebecca Ferguson (Dune, A House of Dynamite), Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs, The Hateful Eight), Jay Lycurgo, and Barry Keoghan. Keoghan will portray Duke Shelby, Tommy’s illegitimate son, introduced in Season 6 of Peaky Blinders.

The Creative Team and Soundtrack

Tom Harper, who likewise directed episodes of the original series, helms The Immortal Man. The screenplay is penned by Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders. Murphy expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me. It is very gratifying to be re-collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.”

The film’s soundtrack will feature original compositions by Antony Genn and Martin Slattery, long-time collaborators on the Peaky Blinders series. New recordings from Grian Chatten of Fontaines DC and Amy Taylor of Amyl & the Sniffers will also be included, alongside contributions from Nick Cave, Lankum, McLusky, and Massive Attack, including a newly recorded version of Nick Cave’s “Red Right Hand.”

Where to Watch Peaky Blinders

For those looking to revisit the original series, all six seasons of Peaky Blinders are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
