Position Summary
The Laboratory Medical Technologist will perform routine and specialized tests independently or with minimal supervision within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. A key responsibility is recognizing the clinical significance of each test and reporting results promptly. The role also involves actively supporting the department’s continuous quality improvement and customer service goals, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.1
Qualifications
Education
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or a related science field. A Clinical Laboratory Technologist License in all areas of responsibility from the State of Florida is also required.1
Experience
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to participate effectively in project teams and understand the age-specific needs of patients. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. Proficiency in using computers, automated instruments, and mechanical apparatus is also necessary, as is the ability to meet deadlines.1
Work Details
- Work Hours: Per Diem – 8 hours per week, with hours varying from 6:30 am to 9:00 pm based on departmental needs.1
- Work Location: All Children’s Hospital/Immunology & Microbiology Lab, Saint Petersburg, FL.1
- Salary Range: $41.00 per hour. Compensation is commensurate with equity and experience for similar roles.1
