Pellegrini emphasized the importance of providing opportunities based on talent rather than financial resources, stating, “The one who has the talent should secure the chance, not the money.” He similarly voiced regret over the discontinuation of a project initiated during his previous term as Prime Minister – the construction of hockey academies at secondary schools across regional cities, modeled after the successful program in Trenčín.
Growth in Participation and Strategic Goals
The SZĽH presented data to President Pellegrini demonstrating positive trends in hockey development. Registered players in Slovakia have increased from 8,355 in 2021 to 12,585 in 2025.
