Penn Gymnastics Shines at California Quad, Eyes GEC Championships

BERKELEY, Calif. – The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team delivered a strong performance at the California Quad, hosted by UC Berkeley, achieving a season-high score of 195.900. California secured first place with a 197.175, followed by Washington at 196.575, and UC Davis with 191.175.

Vault: Consistent Performance

The Quakers demonstrated consistency on the vault, with all five gymnasts scoring between 9.750, and 9.825. Manama Fofana led the team with a 9.825, while Sienna Zuccaro and Jordan Barrow both earned scores of 9.800.

Bars: A Highlight of the Meet

The uneven bars rotation proved to be a standout for Penn, with four scores of 9.825 or higher. Marissa Lassiter, Jordan Barrow, and Sophia Paris each achieved a 9.825, and Luci Toczydlowski topped the team with a 9.850.

Beam: All-Time Performances

Mani Fofana, Maggie Murphy, and Mimi Fletcher all delivered exceptional beam routines, with scores of 9.925 each. These scores rank third all-time on the event for Penn, contributing to a near-49 score on the beam.

Floor: Strong Start

The Quakers began the competition with a strong floor exercise rotation, earning their second-highest score of the night. Manama Fofana led with a 9.900, closely followed by Mimi Fletcher at 9.850.

Looking Ahead

Penn will now focus on the GEC Championships, taking place in Ithaca, N.Y., this Saturday, March 21.
