Penn Gymnasts Barrow and Fofana Qualify for NCAA Regionals
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – University of Pennsylvania gymnasts Jordan Barrow and Manama Fofana have been selected to compete at the 2026 NCAA Regional Championships, beginning April 1 in Tempe, Arizona. Penn Athletics announced the selections on Monday.
Barrow to Compete on Vault
Junior Jordan Barrow will compete on the vault. Recently named GEC Gymnast of the Year, Barrow is tied for first in the GEC on the vault with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 9.835. This score similarly ties her for eighth in the Northeast region. Barrow has achieved a score of 9.850 on the vault on three occasions this season and scored 9.800 or better in seven of her last eight meets.
Fofana to Compete on Floor Exercise
Sophomore Manama Fofana will compete on the floor exercise. Fofana ranks second in the conference on the floor with an NQS of 9.875, also placing her eighth in the Northeast region. Fofana debuted on the floor exercise at the Temple Quad, scoring a 9.850 and has since recorded nine performances of 9.800 or better, including scores of 9.900 in her last two meets.
Penn’s Regional Representation
This marks a strong showing for the Penn gymnastics program, which has produced four regional qualifiers in the last two years. Skyelar Kerico and Mimi Fletcher earned bids last year.
2026 NCAA Regional Championships
The 2026 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships regional selections were announced on Monday, March 23, 2026. The top 36 teams based on the national qualifying score (NQS) were selected for regional competition. The Baton Rouge and Tempe regionals will be conducted from April 1-4, while the Corvallis and Lexington regionals will be conducted from April 2-5.
