Pennsylvania Woman Charged with Killing Husband and Son at Great Wolf Lodge

Resort Room 2030 Crime Scene Investigation

A 27-year-old Pennsylvania woman faces two counts of criminal homicide after her husband and 3-year-old son were found stabbed to death inside a guest room at the Great Wolf Lodge in Monroe County. Pocono Township police identified the suspect as Metallica Rose Harrison of Towanda, Bradford County. Officers responded following a 911 call placed at 3:13 p.m. on Oct. 12, 2026, during which she told dispatchers she needed help dying.

Investigators discovered the bodies of her husband, 36-year-old Charles “Chaz” Harrison, and their son, identified in court records as T.H., lying on separate mattresses on the floor of Room 2030. Charles Harrison suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest, while the toddler sustained a single stab wound to the chest. Police recovered two knives from the scene—a large butcher knife on the bathroom floor and a smaller knife on the bathroom sink—neither of which belonged to the resort.

Emergency Dispatch Call And Hospital Statements

During the recorded 911 call, Metallica Harrison told the dispatcher that she was “too weak to stab my neck” and requested police assistance, stating that her husband and son were “already gone in the bed in the living room,” according to the affidavit of probable cause. She replied that she had been using knives and that it was “not working.”

Following her transport to a local hospital, Harrison made several statements to emergency medical personnel in the ambulance. According to the criminal complaint, she stated, “Every day, I work so hard. To be the best person, the best mother, the best wife. It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That’s what I envisioned since I was a child.” Investigators also noted she asked how deep she needed to slice her wrist for the “next time.” When detectives later advised her of her Miranda rights at the hospital, Harrison declined to answer questions, telling them she was “suicidal, not stupid.”

Resort Timeline And Extended Stay Details

Resort security personnel told investigators that the family checked into the Great Wolf Lodge on Sept. 21, 2026, for an extended stay. A resort spokesperson explained that while uncommon, extended visits occasionally occur when families complete home repairs. The family extended their reservation on Oct. 5 and was scheduled to check out on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Hotel surveillance footage reviewed by police showed the family entering Room 2030 at 6:53 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11. Footage tracked Metallica leaving the room briefly to use a microwave at 8:12 p.m., and later showed both Metallica and Charles visiting the resort arcade at 10:43 p.m. before returning to their room at 11:22 p.m. Investigators reported no further activity at the room’s door after that time. Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso stated at an Oct. 13 news conference that detectives collected between 80 and 90 pieces of evidence from the room, including medication bottles and containers holding suspected blood.

Community Impact And Legal Proceedings

The Pocono Township Police Department characterized the killings as an “isolated domestic tragedy” and emphasized that there was no ongoing threat to the public. Great Wolf Resorts released a statement expressing deep sadness over the incident and confirming full cooperation with local law enforcement.

Harrison was ordered held without bail, while awaiting further legal proceedings. Monroe County Coroner Thomas Yanac announced that autopsies for Charles and T.H. Harrison were expected later in the week.
