Ten-Year-Old Pep Donders Wins Heel Holland Bakt Kids Finale

Ten-year-old Pep Donders from Boxtel won the final of Heel Holland Bakt Kids on Saturday, October 24, 2026, claiming the title of best junior home baker in the Netherlands. Competing alongside his mother and baking partner, Teuntje, the young baker secured the victory during the grand finale broadcast by MAX on NPO Zapp.

Judges Robèrt van Beckhoven and Nick Toet evaluated the final challenges, ultimately awarding the top spot to the duo from Boxtel for their creative entries.

Musical Challenges Lead to the Final Showdown

The final episode kicked off with a fanfare arrival for the contestants, setting the tone for a series of music-themed challenges. Between mixing and baking, the contestants also took part in a karaoke session.

For the ultimate showstopper, each baking duo constructed an elaborate cake shaped like a musical instrument. Pep and Teuntje crafted a guitar-shaped cake, dubbed the ‘Gitaart’, which impressed the judges with its technical execution and creativity. Following the evaluation, families of the finalists gathered on the estate for the results.

The victory followed a demanding semi-final centered around a race theme, as detailed by brabantscentrum.nl. The bakers rushed to fulfill a last-minute order of two hundred petitfours before constructing edible racing cars built on controllable chassis that had to survive a test drive across the finish line. Pep and Teuntje advanced from that round alongside fellow finalists Job and Pleun, while contestants Loïs and her uncle Stef from Eindhoven and Rosmalen exited earlier in the season.

Reflecting on the victory, Pep expressed his surprise at taking home the title. “My dream was actually just to stand in the tent. This is more than a dream, to win this.”

Baking Roots and Future Aspirations in Boxtel

Pep’s passion for the kitchen developed early through guidance from his mother, Teuntje. In an interview with local broadcaster DTV Nieuws, Teuntje noted that while her other children preferred tasting, Pep showed an active interest in stirring and inventing new recipes from a young age. Earlier this year, the duo baked 175 sausage rolls for a local edition of Serious Request in Den Bosch.

The young baker learned about the television competition in March through a friend of his grandmother, according to brabantscentrum.nl. Having previously participated in Heel Boxtel Bakt Kids in a mirror tent as a younger contestant, Pep immediately applied once he reached the eligible age for the national television program. With the competition concluded, the ten-year-old maintains clear ambitions for his career path, stating his goal to become a professional chef.
