PSV Prepares for Champions League Clash Against RB Leipzig
PSV Eindhoven manager Peter Bosz expects an open, high-intensity match when his side faces RB Leipzig in the Champions League at the Red Bull Arena on Tuesday at 21:00, The Telegraaf reported. After opening their European campaign with a 1-1 home draw against Shakhtar Donetsk, the Dutch champions need an away result to keep pace for a top-24 finish.
Tactical Outlook and Squad Changes
Bosz anticipates a clash of playing styles in East Germany, describing the tactical approach to the game simply as “fire with fire” according to public broadcaster NOS. Both teams deploy aggressive, high-press systems, though Bosz noted that Leipzig has experienced a volatile run of results this season. The German side routed Eintracht Frankfurt 6-0 over the weekend but has struggled on the road, including a 4-1 defeat to Como.
Voetbalzone reported that Bosz is expected to shuffle his starting lineup across every line compared to Friday’s 2-0 Eredivisie victory over sc Heerenveen. Matej Kovar is projected to start in goal, protected by a back four of Sergiño Dest, Lutsharel Geertruida, Armando Obispo, and Filip Kostic. Captain Mauro Júnior is slated to move into the midfield alongside Kodai Sano and Guus Til, while Ivan Perisic, Sven Mijnans, and Ruben van Bommel form the projected attacking trio.
Traveling Supporters and Squad Additions
PSV will be backed by approximately 2,500 traveling supporters in the Red Bull Arena, marking the club’s first European away trip since January, according to PSVFans. On the roster front, UEFA has granted PSV permission to add 17-year-old Danish striker Mikkel Bro Hansen to their Champions League squad list, replacing the long-term injured Alassane Pléa.
