Autopsies on the three people shot to death in an off-road camper on Feb. 8, as well as their location inside the vehicle, indicate it was likely two consecutive murders and one suicide. This is stated in a press release of the prosecutor’s office in the “Petrohan” case.

From a report provided to the prosecutor’s office by the authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it is established that on November 1, 2021, a permit was issued in the name of Ivaylo K. for the possession of two combat pistols found at the crime scene under Mount Okolchitsa.

In the name of Ivaylo I., on August 23, 2021, the authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs issued a permit for the possession of 16 firearms.

In the name of Nikolay Z., on February 24, 2023, the authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs issued a permit for the possession of one combat pistol.

The work on preparing the appointed expertises at the National Institute of Forensic Science continues. The appointment of a forensic psychological examination, which will be prepared by the Institute of Psychology of the Ministry of the Interior, is pending.

The prosecutor’s office adds that in order to clarify the activities of the non-governmental organization “National Agency for the Control of Protected Areas”, its registration and its interaction with state bodies – ministries and others, as well as allegations of financial donations, the District Prosecutor’s Office-Sofia is to separate materials to be sent under the competence of the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office with a view to checking for possible violations by officials.
