How do the “Petrohan” huts know about a report against them in the GDBOP, and the director of the service – not. This question was asked by the leaders of “Yes, Bulgaria” Ivaylo Mirchev and Bozhidar Bojanov, after earlier today Kalin Stoyanov – MP from DPS and head of GDBOP in 2022 – explained to the media that he was not aware of such a signal.
“This is shocking, and it is more shocking that everyone else knew, including the people from Petrokhan – this is clear from the words of witnesses. How is it possible that children and people from the organization know, but the head of GDBOP does not know. This is a huge failure for the head of GDBOP, if it is true. What is worse is that if he was sincere, his political power would not have voted against our proposal to release all the information”, commented Ivaylo Mirchev.
A little earlier, the district prosecutor’s offices in Sofia and Vratsa sent materials from the investigation to the Speaker of the Parliament Raya Nazaryan. DB have been insisting for days that the documents be declassified and submitted a draft decision to the National Assembly, but yesterday two committees rejected it. At their media briefing, Mirchev and Bojanov explained that the materials sent today were partial, and that the DB had requested the entire documentation, and that only Nazaryan had access to them, and that it was her decision as to what kind of access to them should be, i.e. whether every MP will be able to see them. Minutes later, from the rostrum, Nazaryan announced that the materials are already in the secret file and the deputies will be able to familiarize themselves with them. However, according to Mirchev and Bojanov, the prosecutor’s office only sent partial information.
Earlier today, the DB said that the huts had joint exercises with the Ministry of the Interior, specifically the directorate in Montana in 2025, and that they provided the department with their own drone. DSB leader Atanas Atanasov explained that he even knows which of the mountaineers have cooperated with DANS, although no one has officially confirmed this information so far.
