Galatasaray Penalized for Crowd Conduct and Technical Infractions
Galatasaray A.Ş. received a 350,000 TL fine due to offensive chanting by its supporters during the September 19 away match against Trabzonspor A.Ş., marking the third such offense for the club away from home this season under Article 53/2 of the Football Disciplinary Instruction (FDT). Electronic spectator cards for fans located in the Kuzey Kale Arkası Üst Misafir Kuzey Üst F and G2 visitor blocks have been blocked, barring them from attending the club’s next away fixture.
In addition to club fines, technical staff and players faced individual sanctions stemming from the same fixture. Technical responsibility holder Okan Buruk received a one-match locker room and bench suspension alongside a 100,000 TL fine for unsportsmanlike conduct directed at the match referee, pursuant to FDT Articles 36/1-c and 35/4. Lesley Chimuanya Ugochukwu was issued a two-match official ban for a serious foul against an opponent under Article 43.
Trabzonspor Fined and Sanctioned for Matchday Incidents
Trabzonspor A.Ş. faced multiple financial penalties and spectator restrictions following its home fixture against Galatasaray on September 19. The club incurred a 280,000 TL fine for field incidents caused by supporters under FDT Articles 52/2 and 46/1, alongside an additional 280,000 TL fine for failing to adhere to the match schedule. The board issued an official reprimand for initial crowd chanting offenses, while restricting access for ticket holders in specific sectors of the Kuzey Kale Arkası Alt and Güney Kale Arkası Alt stands for the next home match.
Disciplinary proceedings against Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan and the club regarding post-match media statements concerning the reputation of football institutions resulted in no disciplinary penalties, as the board determined the necessary elements for an infraction were not met.
Additional Disciplinary Actions Across the Süper Lig
Other clubs and officials also received rulings from the PFDK’s September 29 meeting:
- ARCA Corum FK: Facing Corendon Alanyaspor on September 19, the club received a electronic ticket block for supporters in the Güney Tribün C3 block due to offensive chanting. A disciplinary referral regarding club administrator Savaş Balçık’s post-match statements resulted in no penalty.
- Fenerbahçe Inc.: Following the September 20 match against Eyüpspor, supporters in the Kuzey Tribün Kuzey D block faced stadium entry bans for offensive chanting. Coach Dirk Kuyt was fined 50,000 TL for failing to visibly wear his accreditation card.
- Amed Sports Activities: The club was referred to the disciplinary board regarding crowd chanting during its September 20 fixture against Beşiktaş A.Ş.
