Camerino Prepares for Eighth Phoenix Festival
The Phoenix Festival returns to the University Sports Center (CUS) in Camerino, Italy. Organized by the youth movement Panta Rei and the association Musicamdo, the two-day event blends live music, DJ sets, and academic presentations. Italian pop duo Zero Assoluto will headline the weekend.
Shifting Dates to Boost Student Engagement
This year, organizers moved the festival to early July to maximize student turnout, according to Panta Rei president Alessia Piervenanzi. Festivities kick off at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow, with a set by University of Camerino student Emanuele Saltari. The opening night features performances by the band Riots and the Linkin Park tribute group Hybrid Light. The evening wraps up with a “1 HOUR Party,” rotating musical genres every sixty minutes.
Saturday Lineup and Final Performances
Saturday’s schedule opens with an aperitif-time set from DJ Saiko. The stage will then host artist Ventura before the headline performance from Zero Assoluto takes center stage. A collaborative DJ set featuring Giusi Minnozzi, DJ Dok, and Emanuele Saltari, presented by Multiradio, will close out the festival.
A Symbol of Community Resilience
The event operates under the patronage of the Municipality of Camerino and the Unione Marca di Camerino.
“For the university, it is important to host so many people at the CUS facilities,” Leoni stated. The university intends to use the venue to promote its new degree program in Sports and Exercise Science, building on outreach efforts previously seen at the Rimini Wellness fair.
Bridging the Academic and City Divide
Mayor Roberto Lucarelli pointed to the festival’s success in connecting the academic population with the broader city. “This event, which kicks off a summer season packed with a dense schedule of events, has united two communities—the university and the city,” said Lucarelli.
Access and Ticketing Details
Admission is open to the public. Tickets are currently available for purchase through the Ciaotickets platform. Organizers confirmed that tickets will also be available for purchase at the venue entrance during the days of the event.
