The Phoenix Mercury defeated the Chicago Sky 77-69 on Tuesday night, led by a stellar performance from veteran Diana Taurasi.
Taurasi scored 23 points,shooting 7-for-14 from the field,including 5-for-10 from three-point range. She also added five rebounds and three assists.
Brittney griner also had a strong showing for the Mercury, contributing 14 points, five rebounds, four blocks, two steals, and one assist.
For the Sky, Marina Mabrey led the way with 18 points, while Elizabeth Williams added 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Mercury outscored the Sky 22-14 in the third quarter, creating a lead they would not relinquish. Phoenix shot 44.4% from the field,while Chicago shot 38.8%.
