Holiday Swell at Pipeline

Is it just me, or does there always seem to be a good swell on the holidays? Surfers who live on the edge of the Pacific Ocean know that late autumn often provides a bounty of waves just as family arrives. I swear it’s like clockwork,even on the North Shore.

Take last Thursday, when Pipeline was good from sunup to sundown on Thanksgiving, giving locals and visitors one more thing to be thankful for as they ate dinner. The lineup was more packed than your average dinner table. The video features Jamie O’Brien, Shane Dorian, Barron Mamiya, Billy Kemper, landon McNamara, Makana Pang, and Luke Tema, just to name a few. Many of thes surfers will be competing in the upcoming Florence Pipe Pro, a QS 2,000 whose waiting period starts in just over 10 days.
