Plimsoll Productions,a division of ITV Studios renowned for its natural history documentaries and live events,has announced the launch of Plimsoll Immersive. This new division will specialize in developing experiential content for augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence (AI) wearables [1].

The content will maintain Plimsoll’s established focus on the natural world,immersing audiences in 2D and 3D environments through advanced technological applications.This move represents a strategic expansion into the rapidly evolving field of immersive media, catering to a growing demand for engaging and interactive content.
Leadership and Creative Vision
Leading Plimsoll Immersive will be Alex Ranken, Plimsoll’s creative director of natural history. Ranken will continue to oversee content creation for customary broadcast television, combining his expertise in both mediums. His previous work includes directing and producing popular series and specials like Apple’s “tiny World” and “The Wild Ones,” Disney+’s “A Real Bug’s Life,” and ITV’s “A Year on Planet Earth” [1].
A Commitment to Immersive Engagement

Current and Upcoming Projects
“Horse Power,” a documentary exploring the bond between humans and horses narrated by Josh Brolin, demonstrates Plimsoll’s existing capabilities in 3D storytelling [1]. The company also has several other projects in growth, including “Surviving Pompeii with Tom Hiddleston,” “Force of Nature,” and “Skyscraper Live,” a livestream featuring Alex Honnold’s ascent of Taipei 101 on Netflix.
