How to Make Bricks in Pokémon Pokopia

Bricks are essential for completing advanced building projects in Pokémon Pokopia, moving beyond structures made of leaves. While the game doesn’t explicitly guide you on how to obtain them early on, the process involves gathering a specific resource and enlisting the help of a Pokémon with a particular skill set. Here’s a comprehensive guide to crafting bricks in Pokémon Pokopia.

Getting Squishy Clay

The first step in brick-making is acquiring Squishy Clay. This resource becomes available after completing the “Yawn up a Storm” request. This request is triggered when rain softens the clay trapping Onix. Use Rock Smash to break the clay blocks and collect the Squishy Clay.

You can uncover a significant amount of Squishy Clay in the cave system associated with the “Yawn up a Storm” request. Additional clay blocks are also scattered throughout the Bleak Beach region.

Alternatively, Squishy Clay can be obtained from Pokémon with the Litter Speciality, such as Clodsire and Wooper. These Pokémon will occasionally drop Squishy Clay as an item.

Pokémon with the Burn Ability

Once you have Squishy Clay, you’ll need a Pokémon with the Burn ability to transform it into bricks. Several Pokémon possess this ability, including:

  • Charmander
  • Torchic
  • Litwick
  • Growlithe
  • Vulpix
  • Charcadet
  • Ceruledge
  • Ninetales
  • Flareon
  • Volcanion
  • Armarouge
  • Larvesta
  • Volcarona
  • Charmeleon
  • Charizard
  • Combusken
  • Magby
  • Magmar
  • Torkoal
  • Scorbunny
  • Rolycoly
  • Carkol

Charmander is available from the start of the game, making it an easily accessible option. To obtain Torchic, you must first construct Habitat number 069, the “Chirp-chirp Meal,” or number 079, the “Resort Meal Prep.” These habitats require a Wooden Birdhouse, a Plated Food, and a Table, with a berry placed on top of the plate.

Crafting the Bricks

With both Squishy Clay and a Burn-ability Pokémon in hand, the crafting process is straightforward:

  1. Speak to your chosen Pokémon.
  2. Select “Look at this!”
  3. Show the Pokémon the Squishy Clay.
  4. Ask the Pokémon to turn the clay into bricks.

One lump of Squishy Clay yields two bricks, and you can process up to 10 lumps at a time. The Pokémon will take a few minutes to fire the clay, but there’s no daily limit on how many bricks you can create.

Bricks are not found in the wild like rocks; they must be crafted using this method.
