Guatemalan-Mexican Fintech Startup PoliBit Enters Global Asset Tokenization Market

PoliBit, a Guatemalan-Mexican financial technology startup founded by Gabriela Mena and Martha Mena, is participating in the modernization of investment management through blockchain technology within a global ecosystem projected to reach $13 trillion by 2030, forbescentroamerica.com reported. Operating under the trade model of “infrastructure as a service,” the company builds end-to-end digital architecture designed to support businesses through capital raising, private debt management, and real estate transactions.

From Manual Paperwork to Automated Digital Workflows

Gabriela Mena states that the primary inefficiency in private equity and real estate investing is not the transaction itself, but the manual processes surrounding it. Many investment funds managing upwards of $100 million still rely on email threads, manual document reviews, and wire transfers that take days to verify. PoliBit addresses this operational bottleneck by offering a digital platform that reduces the initial investor onboarding process from 45 days down to a single day, according to the company’s chief executive officer.

Compliance and Security Standards in Multi-Market Operations

The platform uses the ERC-3643 security token standard, a protocol utilized in the United States for tokenized assets that automatically embeds Know Your Customer (KYC) identity verification into every issued token. Martha Mena explains that the infrastructure integrates blockchain into the user workflow while keeping the underlying technology hidden from end users. For reporting, PoliBit applies Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) standards to reconcile capital calls, reports, and financial statements. The company currently operates across five markets: Mexico, Guatemala, the United States, Argentina, and Panamá.

Current Traction and Expansion Goals Toward 2030

The platform has processed $6.5 million in transactions, onboarded more than 100 active investors and users, and completed over 1,000 verifications. Company executives state that prospective clients are increasingly approaching them with capital pools reaching $100 million. PoliBit aims to reach $1 billion in tokenized assets under management within three years. Boston Consulting Group projects that tokenized capital markets will exceed $16 trillion globally by 2030.

Fintech Recognition and Global Acceleration Programs

Originally launched in Mexico in 2023 as a real estate marketplace, the enterprise pivoted into a white-label financial infrastructure provider for real estate and private equity. PoliBit is a finalist in the Startup World Cup for a spot in Silicon Valley, received recognition as Best Fintech in Proptech by PropTech Latam in 2024 and PropTech Campus in 2025, and graduated from the inaugural edition of Shark Tank Guatemala. The company is also part of the portfolio of REACH, the accelerator arm of Second Century Ventures.
