NIBONG TEBAL, Penang – Authorities have apprehended two individuals in connection with the fatal shooting of a man believed to be the owner of a car wash in Nibong Tebal. The incident occurred last Saturday, January 16th, along Jalan Besar permatang Keling.
Penang Police Chief datuk Azizee Ismail confirmed the arrests, stating that both suspects are in their 30s and were taken into custody separately within the state.A thorough investigation is currently underway to establish the motive behind the shooting.
“Both suspects are currently remanded to assist with investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code, with remand orders in place until January 24th and January 25th respectively,” Datuk Azizee Ismail stated.
Preliminary reports indicate the victim, a local man also in his 30s, suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to a hospital for emergency medical attention, but was sadly pronounced dead while receiving treatment.
Investigations suggest the victim was attacked by an unidentified assailant who discharged a firearm multiple times. Police are continuing to gather evidence and interview potential witnesses to build a comprehensive understanding of the events leading up to the shooting.
