Frecciarossa Final Eight 2026: Basketball Showdown Set for Turin with NextGen Cup Debut

Turin, Italy, is gearing up to host the prestigious Frecciarossa Final Eight 2026, the final stage of the Italian Basketball Cup, from February 18th to 22nd at the Inalpi Arena. Lega Basket Serie A has confirmed the event, which will bring together the top eight teams from the first round of the 2025/26 Unipol Serie A league.

NextGen Cup Final to Highlight Future Stars

A key addition to the 2026 event is the inclusion of the final phase of the IBSA NextGen Cup 2025/26. This youth tournament features the Under 19 teams from Serie A clubs, providing a platform to showcase the future of Italian basketball. The NextGen Cup quarterfinals will be held at PalaSermig, with the semifinals and final taking place at the Inalpi Arena on February 20th and 21st, respectively.

LBA Showtime Game: Basketball Meets Entertainment

Adding a unique element to the festivities, the LBA will host an “LBA Showtime Game” on February 20th, starting at 7:30 PM. This event, inspired by the NBA All-Star Game, will combine basketball with entertainment, featuring celebrities from sports and entertainment alongside prominent basketball players. Two teams, Team Mago and Team Gazzo, will compete under the guidance of coaches Carlton Myers and Sasha Danilovic.

Polytechnic University of Turin Involvement

The Polytechnic University of Turin will have a presence at the event, presenting its PoliTO Sporty Campus project, aimed at promoting student well-being and physical activity, and the Dual Career program, supporting student-athletes in balancing their academic and athletic pursuits. The University also participated in the LBA Next Generation Educational Workshop, discussing opportunities for student-athletes.
