Pope Leo Calls for Palestinian State as Sole Solution to Conflict

Jakarta – The head of the Catholic Church, Pope Leo,has spoken about resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He stressed that recognizing the establishment of a Palestinian state is the only way forward for the two countries.

Pope Leo made these remarks while speaking to journalists on a flight from Türkiye to Lebanon on Sunday, November 30th. He acknowledged that Israel’s current stance is hindering the possibility of a two-state solution.

“We all know that at the moment Israel hasn’t accepted that solution, but we see it as the only one,” Pope Leo said during his first press conference aboard the plane, according to Reuters and Al Arabiya on December 1, 2025.
