Prabowo Apologizes for Weekend Meetings: ‘Maybe Not in 2027’

Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto apologized to his ministers for often calling them to meetings on Saturdays and Sundays. He had planned to stop thes weekend meetings in 2026, but changed his mind after watching a video of students walking to school along a river.

Prabowo shared this at the 2025 Bank Indonesia Annual Meeting, held at the BI Building in Central Jakarta, on Friday (2025/11/28 18:29:53). During the event, Prabowo showed the difficult conditions faced by students in remote areas on their way to school. They have to walk along rivers and even cross rope bridges.

“Our people, every day, our children every day, enter the river, get wet, sit in class wet, and come home wet,” Prabowo said.
