Prabowo Approval Rating Soars to 79.9 Percent

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The results of a national survey released by Indonesian Political Indicators show that the level of public satisfaction with President Prabowo Subianto‘s performance reached 79.9 percent.

“If you add up the difference between very satisfied and quite satisfied, it is 79.9 percent. So it is very high for this size approval rating a president,” said Principal Researcher of Indonesian Political Indicators, Burhanuddin Muhtadi, in an online press conference, Sunday (8/2/2026).

The survey was conducted in the period 15–21 January 2026.

Based on the survey results, 13.0 percent of respondents said they were very satisfied and 66.9 percent were quite satisfied with performance President Prabowo.

Meanwhile, 17.1 percent of respondents said they were not satisfied, 2.2 percent were not satisfied at all, and 0.8 percent answered they didn’t know or didn’t answer.

Burhanuddin explained that the level of satisfaction was relatively not much different when compared to January 2025.

In fact, according to him, President Prabowo’s satisfaction rate is higher compared to the beginning of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s administration in 2004 and President Joko Widodo in 2014.

“Approval rating “Pak Prabowo is higher because Pak Prabowo not only relies on electoral capital from the support of Pak Prabowo himself, but also from Pak Jokowi,” said Burhanuddin.

However, Burhanuddin assessed that the level of really strong satisfaction still needs to be strengthened, considering that only 13 percent of respondents said they were very satisfied.

“This means that those who are truly very satisfied are still not sufficient. Overall “It’s still a good 79.9 percent, but it’s still not strong enough, especially from the voter base who say they are very satisfied,” he said.

The reason the public is satisfied

The Indonesian Political Indicator also explores the main reasons behind public satisfaction regarding President Prabowo’s performance.

Based on survey results, the most dominant reason is efforts to eradicate corruption.

“The main reason is to eradicate corruption. This is relatively new, previously Pak Prabowo was generally considered firm as a factor that made him perceived well,” said Burhanuddin.

As many as 17.5 percent of respondents who were satisfied cited eradicating corruption as the main reason.

The next reason is that President Prabowo is considered to often provide assistance, with a percentage of 15.6 percent.
