President Prabowo Subianto has directed his staff to assess the potential ramifications of the US Supreme Court’s recent decision regarding global tariff policy. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto conveyed this directive following discussions in Washington, D.C., on February 21, 2026. “Yesterday, we reported to the President, and he asked us to study all possible risks,” Hartarto stated as quoted by the Presidential Secretariat. The Indonesian government is preparing for various scenarios, having previously discussed the potential ruling with the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) prior to signing a trade agreement with the US.

Indonesia’s Role in Gaza Reconstruction and the International Stabilization Force

Indonesia’s participation in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) deploying to Gaza has been acknowledged by Palestinian authorities. Foreign Minister Sugiono reported that the Chair of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), Ali Shaath, understands Indonesia’s reasons for joining the US-led, multi-national force, which will consist of at least 20,000 troops.
