President Prabowo Observes Eid al-Fitr in Aceh Tamiang, Inspects Flood Recovery Efforts

Aceh Tamiang, Indonesia – President Prabowo Subianto celebrated Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri on Saturday, March 21, 2026, with residents of Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, following the takbiran festivities in Medan, North Sumatra. The President’s visit included performing the Eid prayer and inspecting the progress of post-disaster flood recovery in the region.

President Joins Congregational Prayer, Assesses Disaster Response

President Prabowo arrived at the Battalion 111 runway in Aceh Tamiang at 6:45 AM local time, accompanied by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya Tempo. He then proceeded to Masjid Darussalam, Aceh Tamiang, to join the congregational Eid prayer, which began at 7:30 AM local time, led by Imam Tengku Junaidi Antara.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained that the President’s presence in Aceh was intended to show solidarity with the local community and to directly oversee the ongoing flood recovery efforts. “We all flew to Aceh to perform Eid prayer there, with the people of Aceh in particular. Then we also check,” Wijaya stated Tempo.

Key Officials Accompany President

Alongside President Prabowo, several key government officials attended the Eid prayer and recovery assessment, including Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggono, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, and Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) General Agus Subianto Antara.

Following the prayer, President Prabowo is scheduled to receive a briefing from Minister Karnavian and Minister Hanggono on the latest developments in disaster management in Aceh Tempo.

Part of Eid al-Fitr Safari

This visit to Aceh is part of President Prabowo’s Eid al-Fitr holiday safari, which began on Friday, March 20, 2026, with the takbiran night in Medan, North Sumatra Tempo.

Approximately 1,300 people, including residents of temporary shelters and the surrounding community, attended the Eid prayer at Masjid Darussalam Antara.
