President Prabowo Subianto recently made lighthearted remarks about the National Awakening Party (PKB), suggesting the need for continued monitoring of the party. Muhaimin Iskandar, Chairman of PKB and Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment, quickly dismissed the comments as a friendly joke.
“Yes, joking, joking,” said Iskandar in Hambalang, west Java, on Tuesday, January 6, 2025.
Iskandar downplayed the significance of prabowo’s statement, explaining that the President frequently enough engages in playful banter. “Often like that, joke like that, lah. Gojlokan like that,” he added.

Prabowo’s comments were made during a briefing at a retreat held in Hambalang. He inquired about the presence of PKB General Chair Muhaimin Iskandar among the leaders of coalition parties. Following this, Prabowo jokingly stated that PKB required continuous monitoring.
“But here our coalition is strong, right? There are all the party leaders, right? There are,” Prabowo said at the retreat at Padepokan garudayaksa, Hambalang, bogor, West Java, on Tuesday, January 6.
“Is there a PKB chairman? This PKB must be continuously monitored,” Prabowo continued, with a playful tone.

These remarks come amidst ongoing efforts to solidify the governing coalition. Recent reports indicate a willingness from Prabowo to establish a permanent coalition with PKB . Furthermore, PKB has expressed its readiness to synergize and support Prabowo’s presidency . prabowo also acknowledged the importance of PKB during the 27th anniversary of the party .
