Prime Video hosted its latest young adult showcase on September 7–8, gathering international stars in the Bavarian Alps for an industry event dubbed the Obsessed Retreat. According to reporting from Deadline, the two-day campus-style gathering highlighted upcoming adaptations and final installments across the streamer’s youth-focused slate, including first-look imagery for Boys of Tommen and Our Fault: London.
First Looks at Boys of Tommen and Our Fault: London
The Bavarian retreat yielded fresh production imagery for several high-profile adaptations. According to Deadline coverage of the event, Prime Video released first-look photos for Boys of Tommen, featuring Nancy Surridge as Shannon Lynch and Conor Sánchez as Johnny Kavanagh in the screen adaptation of Chloe Walsh’s novel. Additionally, the platform unveiled new imagery for Our Fault: London, which marks the final installment of the English-language adaptation trilogy based on Mercedes Ron’s Culpables series, featuring cast members Asha Banks and Matthew Broome.
Expanding International YA Content in Germany
According to Deadline, the choice of Germany for the retreat held strategic significance as the production base for Maxton Hall – The World Between Us, a German-filmed series set in England that is entering its third and final season. Nicole Clemens, VP and Head of International Originals at Amazon MGM Studios, stated in published remarks provided to Deadline that non-English language international originals are driving this wave of programming. Clemens noted that the slate represents the studio’s biggest commitment yet to young adult audiences, combining local cultural roots with universal appeal.
Screenings and Strategic Precedents
The two-day itinerary included exclusive screenings of several titles, such as Love Hypothesis, Maxton Hall – The World Between Us, Drawn Together, You+Me – Against the World, Drive – The Pretenders, and Perfect Liars, alongside art releases from the Italian Wattpad adaptation Love Me Love Me 2 featuring Mia Jenkins and Pepe Barroso Silva.
