A Candid Admission on the Podcast Circuit
Prince Harry, 41, has opened up about his experience with male pattern baldness, offering a rare, self-deprecating glimpse into his personal grooming habits. During a recent appearance on the podcast Joe Marler Will See You Now, the Duke of Sussex spoke with the former England rugby player about the realities of his changing hairline.
“There’s Not Really Much Going On”
When pressed by Marler on his daily routine, Harry took a relaxed approach to the subject. The Duke joked that his scalp requires minimal maintenance, stating, “Up top, there’s not really much going on.”
He admitted that while he still visits a barber, he makes a conscious effort to avoid close inspection of his hair. “I get my hair cut. But apart from that, I try not to really look at what’s going on up there,” he said. This follows a similar lighthearted quip he made at an Invictus Games event in Birmingham, where he remarked, “Some of us have lost our hair.”
From Childhood Teasing to Adult Humor
Beyond his hairline, the conversation shifted to his broader grooming regimen. Harry described his routine as straightforward, centered on basic hygiene and trimming his beard every five to six days.
The Duke also looked back at his youth, recalling how classmates once used the derogatory term “carrot top” to mock his red hair. Today, he has reclaimed the narrative with humor, opting to describe the color as a “reddish sunset brown.”
