Fight Breaks Out at Providence’s Capitol Grille

GoLocal was notified of a fight that took place on the evening of December 26, 2025, at the Capitol grille restaurant in Providence. Details are still emerging, but initial reports indicate a physical altercation occurred between patrons.
Providence Police confirmed they responded to a disturbance call at the Capitol Grille,located on Weybosset Street,around 9:30 PM.Officers arrived to find individuals involved in a physical dispute. Police have not yet released the number of people involved or the cause of the altercation.
“We are investigating an incident that occurred at the Capitol Grille this evening,” said Officer Kevin Sullivan, a spokesperson for the Providence Police Department. “We are gathering data and interviewing witnesses. Further details will be released as they become available.”
Witnesses at the scene described a chaotic scene. “It happened so fast,” said one diner who wished to remain anonymous. “People were yelling, and then someone threw a punch. It was scary.”
The Capitol Grille management has not yet issued a statement regarding the incident. The restaurant was open for business as usual on Friday evening, though police remained on the scene for some time following the altercation.
