Pizá, born in Tijuana and currently based in San Diego, has deep roots in Mexico and a long-standing relationship with Puerto Vallarta. He established an office in the city in 2006 while managing the Bahía Course at Punta Mita, a Jack Nicklaus Signature design. Pizá Golf now employs eight people in Puerto Vallarta, serving as a base for projects throughout Mexico, Latin America, and Europe. He also maintains an office in San Diego for projects within the United States.

Innovative Golf Course Design

Agustín Pizá is recognized in the golf industry for his creative and unconventional designs. He is currently developing the “Butterfly Effect,” a 24-hole layout in the Coahuila Desert featuring four independent six-hole loops. Pizá Golf Design highlights his designs for their strategy, aesthetics, and character. He has also contributed to the design of holes for TGL, the tech-driven golf league founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, showcasing his imaginative approach with features like cenote-inspired fairways and temple-like structures.

Pizá holds a Master of Science in Golf Course Architecture from Edinburgh University, making him the first Latin American to earn this degree and develop into a Senior Member of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA).
