Puglia Film Commission Forges Collaboration to Boost Regional Audiovisual Sector
Bari, Italy – A new three-year collaboration agreement has been signed between the Puglia Foundation, Puglia Culture and Territory, and the Apulia Film Commission Foundation, aiming to strengthen the cultural and economic development of the Apulia region through cinema and the broader audiovisual industry. The partnership will focus on promoting cinematographic culture and supporting the growth of the audiovisual sector within Puglia.
Strengthening Puglia’s Position in the Audiovisual Landscape
The agreement seeks to solidify Puglia’s standing as a key national and international hub for film and audiovisual productions. It will encourage initiatives with a strong cultural and educational focus, fostering a thriving ecosystem for filmmakers, scholars, and enthusiasts alike. The Apulia Film Commission Foundation will spearhead the organization of events dedicated to promoting cinematographic culture, including conferences, workshops, and study days.

The Puglia Foundation and Puglia Culture and Territory will contribute by providing spaces and infrastructure to support collaborative activities. About the Apulia Film Commission
Established in 2007, the Apulia Film Commission (AFC) aims to attract audiovisual production companies to the Puglia region by providing subsidies to lower production costs. AFC has financed over 163 productions, including feature films, documentaries, and television series, and has been instrumental in bringing international projects to the region. The commission offers a range of services to assist productions with logistical challenges and provides access to diverse locations throughout Puglia. The Apulia Film Commission is a member of Italian Film Commissions, the Association of Film Commissioners International, and the European network of regional film funds.
