Minister Addresses Threat of Customs Employee Layoffs

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Rini Widyantini is responding to warnings from the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa regarding potential layoffs of 16,000 employees within the Directorate General of Customs (DJBC) if performance doesn’t improve.

rini stated her team hasn’t yet met with Purbaya to discuss the plan. She will first assess how state civil apparatus (ASN) functions within DJBC.

“I haven’t met Mr. Purbaya yet. naturally, I need to confirm how the ASN functions there,” Rini said at the Coordinating Ministry for Food, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (december 3rd).
