Burned Beard Brewing, Quincy’s first craft brewery, opened in August 2025, following a nearly two-year renovation of the historic F.P. May Drug Co. Building . Founded by Roger and Bridgette Rankin, formerly of Rankin Tacos in Tallahassee, the brewery officially began brewing in February 2026, with its first offering, “Quinc-IPA.” The building itself holds historical significance, having operated as Florida’s oldest pharmacy from 1876 to 1986 . The brewery’s name is a nod to a local legend about the former head pharmacist accidentally setting his long beard on fire while mixing an elixir.
