Press release from the Racing Club de Lens: suspension of the gauge set by the prefectural decree relating to travel to the Stade Jean Bouin.
The Racing Club of Lens takes note with satisfaction of the order issued on February 13, 2026 by the administrative court, which suspends the execution of the decree of February 10, 2026 of the Paris police prefect as it limited the number of Lens supporters authorized to access the “visitors” stand at the Stade Jean Bouin to 200, instead of the 1,000 seats usually open during a Ligue 1 match.
By his Article 1erthe order provides in fact:
“The execution of the decree of February 10, 2026 of the Paris police prefect is suspended as it restricts to 200 the number of supporters of the RC Lens team authorized in the “visitors” stand of the stadium instead of the 1,000 normally authorized during a Ligue 1 football match.”
This decision, obtained following the steps taken by the supporters’ associations, via their council, as well as by the club also represented by its council, constitutes a victory on the merits. It enshrines the principle of proportionality of administrative police measures and recalls the requirement for consultation which must govern the supervision of supporter movements.
The Racing Club de Lens is delighted with a decision which goes beyond the sole framework of this meeting. It represents a victory for loyal and committed supporterism, which is an integral part of the identity of our institution. She reminds us that popular passion, when supervised and supported, is not a risk in itself, but a wealth of French football.
On the eve of the match against Paris FC, however, this decision comes against a particularly tight schedule. One day before the match, the logistical organization of a large-scale trip – ticketing, transport, supervision – cannot be adjusted without difficulty.
In this context, the Club calls on all stakeholders – authorities, organizers, supporters and bodies – to demonstrate responsibility, composure and a spirit of cooperation so that this trip takes place in the best conditions of security and serenity.
