Beşiktaş Official Firm on Player Transfers, Rejects Player-Funded Release Clauses
Beşiktaş JK board member Hüseyin Yücel Adalı has firmly stated the club’s position regarding player transfers, emphasizing that the club maintains complete control over player departures and associated conditions. Adalı’s comments came in response to an apparent offer from player Rafa, who reportedly proposed contributing 3 million euros towards his own release from the club.
“In response, Rafa said, ‘Let me bring 3 million euros, release me immediately,'” Adalı recounted. “Though, I reiterate, this is Beşiktaş. Within this club, players are not permitted to dictate their own terms. No player can unilaterally declare, ‘I will provide funds for my departure.’ If a player wishes to leave Beşiktaş, the club solely determines the conditions and retains the final say.”
adalı underscored the rights of the club, stating that any player seeking a transfer must meet the transfer fee stipulated by Beşiktaş.”A player who desires to leave must bring the transfer fee determined by the club,” he explained. “The reverse scenario – a player offering to fund their own release – is not permissible.”
These statements reinforce Beşiktaş’s commitment to maintaining a strong negotiating position and upholding the club’s financial interests in all player transfer dealings. The club’s policy ensures that departures are managed strategically and benefit Beşiktaş JK as an institution.
