The Ryzen 7 5800XT, a refreshed version, also made it into the top four best-selling CPUs on Amazon in the United States. This shows that age isn’t always the biggest factor for consumers.

the comeback of AMD’s older processors isn’t random. A major reason is the ongoing global memory supply crisis. DRAM and NAND manufacturers are prioritizing production for data centers and artificial intelligence, limiting memory supply for consumers.

Though, AM4 platform users are in a much better position. They can continue to use more affordable DDR4 RAM, making upgrades significantly cheaper. This is driving demand for older Ryzen processors like the 5800X and 5800XT.
