Bushido Undergoes Surgery for Ear Tumor
German rapper Bushido has undergone surgery to remove a benign tumor located near his left ear. The 47-year-oid musician, whose real name is Anis Ferchichi, shared the updates alongside his wife, Anna-Maria Ferchichi, on Instagram.
He first revealed the diagnosis in May after noticing a swelling. Medical evaluations quickly determined that the growth needed to be extracted to prevent potential malignant transformation.
Navigating Risks in the Operating Room
The procedure required general anesthesia. The tumor was situated directly on or within the parotid salivary gland.
Surgeons faced a delicate task. They had to continuously monitor a facial nerve running through the gland to prevent permanent damage during the extraction.
Postoperative Recovery and Pathology Results
Following the operation, Anna-Maria Ferchichi provided a detailed health update via her Instagram story. She noted that the growth was positioned somewhat firmly against a nerve.
Still, the attending professor expressed optimism about the outcome. The removed tissue has now been sent for histological analysis to confirm definitive findings within two weeks.
Photographs from the hospital room showed the rapper recovering. His left ear was bandaged, and he had a central venous catheter used for administering medications and monitoring blood pressure.
Balancing Major Family Upheaval
The medical intervention coincided with a major household transition for the family. Bushido and Anna-Maria Ferchichi recently relocated to a 19-room villa spanning over 800 square meters in Grünwald, near Munich.
Life was already moving fast. Anna-Maria Ferchichi noted that the household was managing simultaneous contractor work and unpacking the final boxes alongside their eight children during the lead-up to the surgery.
