Rare Limited Edition PS5 Pro Bundle Auctioned for Charity in Fresh Zealand

A highly sought-after 30th Anniversary Limited Edition PlayStation 5 Pro bundle is being auctioned in New Zealand, with all proceeds benefiting the Sony Foundation New Zealand’s Holiday Camp Program, which supports children with disabilities.

A Collector’s Item

This special console commemorates the 30th anniversary of the original PlayStation’s launch in 1995. Sony produced a limited run of 12,300 individually numbered units worldwide, making it a coveted item for collectors. The release quickly sold out and is no longer available through standard retail channels.

What’s Included in the Bundle?

The auction includes the complete limited-edition bundle, featuring:

  • Limited Edition PS5 Pro Console
  • Limited Edition DualSense Edge Wireless Controller
  • Limited Edition DualSense Wireless Controller
  • Limited Edition DualSense Charging Station
  • Limited Edition Console Cover (for the disc drive)
  • Limited Edition Vertical Stand
  • Original PlayStation controller-style cable connector housing
  • Four PlayStation-shaped cable ties
  • PlayStation sticker
  • Limited Edition PlayStation poster (one of 30 possible designs)
  • PlayStation paperclip

Supporting Children with Disabilities

The Sony Foundation New Zealand’s Holiday Camp Program provides three days and two nights of supervised care for children with disabilities at no cost to their families or carers. The program aims to provide respite for families whereas offering children a chance to socialize with peers and combat feelings of isolation. High school and university students serve as carers during the camps, gaining valuable experience and providing full-time support.

Auction Details

The online auction is being hosted on the Galabid platform. Bidding opened at 9:00 am NZDT on Monday, March 2, 2026, and is scheduled to close at 5:00 pm NZDT on Monday, March 16, 2026. The auction utilizes an automatic extension feature, continuing until no further bids are placed for a continuous 90-second period. The highest bidder at the end of this period will win the auction.

Galabid will automatically notify the winning bidder with payment instructions, and the Sony Foundation will then coordinate delivery within New Zealand. A card processing fee of $0.30 plus 1.75% of the final bid will apply to credit card payments to cover processing charges.

Collector Appeal and Charitable Context

The limited-edition console’s design incorporates a legacy color scheme and design elements reminiscent of the original PlayStation. The scarcity of only 12,300 units worldwide significantly enhances its appeal. The auction format, combined with the charitable cause, provides a unique purchasing experience compared to secondary marketplaces.
