Reddit User accidentally Buys Unreleased Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti GPU

A Reddit user with the account name Tommyjones91 accidentally purchased a rare version of Nvidia graphics card that was never officially released to the market.

In a post on the Reddit platform,Tommyjones91 stated that he bought two used GPU units that appeared to be standard Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 cards.

Initially, he believed the graphics cards would function like a typical RTX 3080 Ti.

However, after installation, the GPU only displayed an image on the monitor, but official Windows and Nvidia drivers failed to recognize it. The driver installation process also failed.

Further investigation using the GPU-Z application revealed the card to be an engineering sample of the RTX 3080 Ti 20 GB. This 20 GB variant was never made available to the public and was reportedly canceled due to Nvidia’s product strategy.

Because it is an engineering sample,the GPU is not compatible with standard drivers. Nvidia does not provide drivers for these unreleased samples.

Tommyjones91 is now seeking advice from the Reddit community on what to do with the rare GPU.
