Realme 16 Series 5G: LumaColor IMAGE Technology Promises Enhanced Portrait Photography

Jakarta, March 1, 2026 – Realme is set to launch its 16 Series 5G in Indonesia on March 10, 2026, introducing a new camera technology called LumaColor IMAGE. Developed internally by Realme in collaboration with TÜV Rheinland, LumaColor IMAGE aims to deliver more authentic and natural portrait photos.

What is LumaColor IMAGE?

Realme’s LumaColor IMAGE technology focuses on simultaneously processing light and color to achieve balanced and realistic results, differentiating it from conventional image processing systems. The technology is designed to improve multidimensional skin color optimization and create a more natural depth-of-field blur effect, separating subjects from backgrounds with a smooth bokeh effect, mimicking the visual depth of professional cameras.

Realme 16 Series 5G Models and Camera Specifications

LumaColor IMAGE will be featured in the Realme 16 Pro+ 5G and Realme 16 Pro 5G, alongside the standard Realme 16 5G, all launching on March 10, 2026. The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G will boast a high-resolution camera system:

  • Main Camera: 200MP Samsung HP5 f/1.8 with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS)
  • Ultrawide Camera: 8MP 116° autofocus
  • Telephoto Camera: 50MP periscope f/2.8 with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS

Focus on Portrait Photography

Realme emphasizes that the 16 Series 5G is designed for a generation that actively creates visual content, particularly portrait photography. The LumaColor IMAGE technology is intended to enable users to capture high-quality photos with authentic skin tones, layered lighting, and an emotionally engaging atmosphere.
