HARRISON, NJ – February 27, 2026 – Red Bull New York has added defender Joyeux Masanka Bungi on loan from RB Leipzig through June 30, 2026, the club announced Thursday. The 19-year-ancient Belgium youth international joins RBNY seeking increased playing time and development opportunities.

A Rising Talent from RB Leipzig

Masanka Bungi has spent the last year with the German Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig, after joining their academy in 2023. During his time with Leipzig’s youth teams, he made 56 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing 8 assists across the U-17 and U-19 levels. He helped the U-17 team reach the semifinals of the German Championship in 2024. Transfermarkt reports that Masanka Bungi signed a professional contract with RB Leipzig on February 7, 2025, which runs until 2027.

International Experience

The Berchem-Saint-Agathe, Belgium native has represented Belgium at various youth levels, including the U-15, U-16, U-17, and U-18 national teams, earning a total of 28 appearances. The New York Red Bulls official website confirms his international experience.
