The grid countdown will now re-commence at the 5-minute board in the event of a delayed start, as agreed in Jerez The Grand Prix Commission has approved an update of Article 1.18.18 – Start Delayed. It takes effect immediately, from the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Grand Prix of Spain at Jerez onwards. After a Start Delayed is declared on the grid, the previous regulation said that the grid countdown would resume at the 3-minute board. This does not give teams enough warning of when they must stop work on the bikes. The regulation has therefore been updated. After a Start Delayed is declared on the grid, the countdown to the Warm Up lap will now resume at the 5-minute board.
