Catherine Wallen Sworn In to Represent Pennsylvania’s 193rd District
York Springs, PA – Catherine Wallen was officially sworn in to serve the residents of Pennsylvania’s 193rd Legislative District, following a special election victory on March 17, 2026. The ceremony marks the beginning of her term representing portions of Adams and Cumberland counties.
Special Election Results
Wallen, a Republican, defeated Democratic candidate Todd Crawley, securing nearly 60% of the vote. She received 5,225 votes across Adams and Cumberland counties, compared to Crawley’s 3,521 votes according to unofficial results.
Filling a Vacancy
The election was called to fill the seat vacated by Torren Ecker, who resigned after being elected as a judge on the Adams County Court of Common Pleas in 2025 . Republicans successfully held onto the seat, which has been under Republican control since 1973.
Wallen’s Background
Prior to her election, Wallen served for eight years as the district director for former Rep. Torren Ecker . Her campaign highlighted her experience in state government, a prior career in the healthcare industry and her ownership of a small goat farm, Orchard Views LLC, in York Springs . She and her husband, Dave, raised their three children – Brianna, Brantly, and Sebastian – in Adams County.
Looking Ahead
Wallen will face Todd Crawley again in the November 2026 general election . The outcome of this race will be closely watched, given the narrow Democratic majority currently in the Pennsylvania State House.
